Riders and non-riders, alike, are welcome to join us for Dad's Day Out, a unique pairing of friendly competition, beer tasting and prizes!

Dads are welcomed into an afternoon of beer, food, and equine exploration and enjoyment, strictly curated for dads who are 21 and over. Please bring one (or more) bottles of your favorite beer to enjoy and share with the rest of the dads.

These events unfold at 3:00 p.m. and runs for around 2-hours, packed with engaging activities, delicious food, and good horse fun!

Dad's Day Out kicks off with a series of mini competitions involving golf, tires, horses and much more! A couple lucky winners will enjoy a horse lesson catering to both beginners and experienced riders, our knowledgeable instructors will teach each person and ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

For all dads (riders and non-riders), beer tasting and competition with horses follows the prizes awarded (please bring a bottle of your favorite beer to share). During this section of the event, participants will have the opportunity to sample the favorite beers of local Hawaii residents, complemented by a serving of meticulously chosen appetizers to enhance the tasting experience.

Are riding helmets provided if one wants to protect his head?

We do have helmets available to borrow. If you want your own a riding helmet, you can purchase one at Amazon. Troxel and OV are the recommended brands to choose from:

Please go to the shop for a custom helmet fitting, as it is crucial that your helmet fits you well.

Do you have to be an experienced rider to participate in Dad's Day Out?

No, you actually do not need to have any riding experience at all! We can help those who have never ridden to give riding a try. We can also work with those who are experienced to have some fun on our horses, while getting a few "tips and tricks" from our outstanding instructor!

Will this event take place indoors or outdoors?

The competitions and horse riding will take place in and around the pasture or barn. Beer will be in a covered area.

During the riding portion of the evening, will riders be able to jump, if they want to?

We won't offer any jumping during the riding portion of the Dad's Day Out event. If you are interested in jumping horses, please talk to Michelle about horseback riding lessons. You can text or call Michelle at: (808) 698-6855.

Is there a cost associated with attending the event, and, if so, what does it cover?

The cost is:

$75 games, prizes, and hors d'oeuvres

How long is the event expected to last?

The total event run time will be approximately 2 hours.

Is the event only for those over age 21?

Yes, you must be at least 21-years-old to sign-up for this event. If you are younger than 21, please contact us about riding lessons, instead.

What kind of beer will be provided, and is there a limit to the amount of beer each participant can have?

We will be tasting a variety of locally-favorite beer while we share the pasture with the horses in a safe environment.

As this is a beer tasting, only, there will be a limit to the amount of beer consumed.

Please bring a bottle (or two) of your favorite beer, which can be shared with the group.

Is registration required to attend the event? If so, how can people register, and is there a registration fee?

Yes, advanced registration is required. All registrations but be submitted no later than 24 hours in advance of the event. The fee to register is $75.

Will participants be provided with horses for the event? Do they need to bring any riding gear or equipment?

Horses and tack are included.

Will there be any food or snacks provided, or should participants bring their own?

Appetizers and water will be provided. Each participant should bring 1 (or more) bottles of beer for sharing and tasting.

What happens in case of inclement weather? Is there a rain date or a cancellation policy?

In case of storms, please call (808) 698-6855 to verify that event is still being held.

If the event is cancelled due to weather, you will be given the option of a date in the future to join a Sip & Ride event. However, please call (808) 698-6855 to verify this.

Is there parking available at the event location? Are there any transportation options for those who don't have their own means of getting there?

Yes, there is plenty of parking.

For those who need transportation, Uber is an excellent option.

Is there a recommended dress code for the event, especially for horse riding?

Riders should wear long pants, a close-fitting shirt, and boots with a 1 inch heel.

If boots are not available, riders must wear close-toed, hard soled shoes with heels of at least 1/4 inch.

What is the event's cancellation policy in case someone can't attend?

Refunds will be given to those cancelling at least 48-hours prior to the event. Those cancelling after 48-hour in advance will not receive a refund.

Are you allowed to bring your own horse?

No, sorry. We'll just be riding Woman of Horses horses at Mom's Day Out. However, if you are interested in riding lessons on your own horse, we would be happy to discuss that option with you.

Is the beer tasting and competitions happening before, during, or after riding?

Light competitions will happen before riding. Beer tasting takes place after the riding.

In the arena at Woman of Horses, 44-2595 Kalopa Road, Honokaa, HI 96727.

What kind of food will be served?

Light hors d'oeuvres will be provided!

Is there a limit on how many people can attend?

Yes, the event will be limited to 10 guests.

Do I need to sign any forms or show proof of age?

Yes. Upon arrival at the event or digitally before the event, all attendees will need to sign a release of liability waiver and show proof of age via a valid ID.
